Mozilla Wants to Bring HTML5 to Smartphones
The Mozilla Foundation is working on a new project called WebAPI that hopes to bridge the gap between HTML5 and native smartphone apps. The organization plans to develop a new set of open Web-based application interfaces for smartphones and tablets. Those APIs would allow HTML 5 apps to access a mobile device's dialer, contact, SMS, clock, camera, accelerometer, geolocation and other features.
Mozilla is currently hiring full-time employees to work on the WebAPI mobile development project.
