Microsoft has officially released the 2.0 version of its Cognitive Toolkit. Formerly known as the Computational Network Toolkit (CNTK), the Cognitive Toolkit offers deep learning tools, including image recognition, speech recognition and search relevance tools. The latest version includes support for the Keras neural network library, model compression extensions that provide faster performance, and support for the latest Nvidia Deep Learning SDKs and Volta GPUs.

“The toolkit is part of Microsoft’s broader initiative to make AI technology accessible to everyone, everywhere,” the company said. “In addition to the Cognitive Toolkit, developers can access a suite of cloud computing applications via Microsoft Azure such as easy to use and deploy machine-learning application programing interfaces, or APIs, via Microsoft Cognitive Services.”
