KDE developer confidence in Qt was shaken with the announcement that Nokia is moving its smartphone business to Microsoft Windows Phone 7, but KDE has assured the community that Qt is here to stay.

Schumacher said that the KDE community chose Qt in 1996 because it was the best software development framework, and today, it still is.
