Code.org’s annual Hour of Code events will take place Dec. 8-14. The short sessions aim to provide “a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics.” Many of the events are designed to appeal to children; one, for example, uses the characters from the movie Frozen to teach coding lessons.

More than 70,000 events worldwide (and more than 37,000 in the United States) have registered with Code.org. You can find an event in your area through the Hour of Code website.
