GitHub has launched a new Student Developer Pack that offers free access to a collection of development tools and services from more than a dozen companies. Included in the pack is a free GitHub “micro account,” which normally costs $7 per month, and GitHub’s free text editor Atom. In addition, students can get free services from Bitnami, Crowdflower, DigitalOcean, DNSimple, HackHands, Namecheap, Orchestrate, Screenhero, SendGrid, Stripe, Travic CI and Unreal Engine.

In order to qualify, students must be at least 13 years old and must provide proof of their student status, such as a .edu email address, ID card, enrollment letter or transcript.
