First Look at Diaspora, Open Source Social Network
The open source social networking project, Diaspora, is available only via private alpha, but Ars Technica's Ryan Paul has seen it.
"Diaspora feels a lot like a less polished version of the Facebook activity stream," Paul said. "It offers a similar user experience, but with a stronger emphasis on contact groups."
But if Facebook and other social networking sites continue to fumble on the privacy front, Diaspora will have at least a niche to carve out.
