Last fall, Facebook held an F8 development conference, but the company has confirmed that it’s not planning a similar conference this year. Typically, Facebook uses the event as a forum for introducing major changes to its platform. The lack of a planned conference may mean the company isn’t planning any big updates.

In the past five years, Facebook has help four F8 conferences. The longest time between conferences was 16 months.
