Devs to Receive Tablets to Test Windows 8 on ARM

In an effort to spur developer interest in Windows 8 on ARM, Microsoft and Qualcomm plan to seed the development community with test PCs. Developers who are invited to join the project will receive tablets equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processors and Windows 8 on ARM.

The goal of the program is to encourage developers to create apps for the new Windows 8 Metro interface and to ensure that those apps will run on ARM hardware and support appropriate peripherals. Unlike the desktop version of Windows 8, Windows 8 on ARM will not support legacy third-party apps or plug-ins, including Flash and Silverlight.
