A new report from Flurry Analytics shows that more than two-thirds of the mobile development projects started during the most recent quarter were for iOS, while less than one-third were for Android. “Android delivers less gain and more pain than iOS, which we believe is the key reason 7 out of every 10 apps built in the new economy are for iOS versus Android,” said Flurry’s Peter Farago.

The latest Flurry numbers are very similar to the report released three months ago. It also indicates that for every dollar developers earn on iOS, they can expect to earn about 24 cents on Android. In addition, many developers say creating apps for Android is more difficult because they have to build for multiple devices and multiple versions of the OS.
