Codecademy, a startup offering online development lessons, has added new user-developed courses in Python. Until now, the company only offered classes on client-side languages and markup, such as Javascript, HTML and CSS. However, Codecademy hopes to add many more server-side classes, beginning with the Python classes. According to the company, high school and college-level teachers have been requesting Python courses for some time.

Codecademy begins new users with lessons in JavaScript, and it also offers a Code Year program, which offers courses in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and jQuery.
