Microsoft has announced that it has updated its Bing search engine with new developer-friendly features. Specifically, it has improved the way Bing handles technical queries by providing in-context information when developers search for code snippets, and the search engine does a better job of searching for special characters.
“Technical developer queries often contain non-alphanumeric characters like :: (scope), ++ (operators), () (function), etc. Such queries are notoriously difficult for a search engine to handle,” said Shabbar Husain, senior program manager of Bing’s Tech Team. “Bing has given special treatment to such technical queries so that the context is preserved and we show relevant results on top.”
The search engine also has new shortcuts for users who search for Microsoft-related products.
