Wednesday at its re:Invent conference, Amazon Web Services (AWS) rolled out a number of new tools and services for developers, including several aimed at supporting DevOps, agile software development and continuous integration and deployment. They included the following:

  • AWS OpsWorks for Chef: a cloud-based version of Chef Automate
  • AWS Codebuild: a service that compiles source code and runs unit tests
  • Amazon X-Ray: an application analyzation and debugging tool
  • Personal Health Dashboard: a tool that provides a detailed look at application performance
  • AWS Shield: website protection against DDoS attacks
  • Amazon Pinpoint: a service that helps mobile development firms improve engagement
