Corporate Adoption of Linux Trends Up
The Linux Foundation has a new survey showing that large corporations are looking at Linux as opposed to Windows as their operating system for the future.
Nearly 80 percent of companies plan to add more Linux servers.
Of the 387 respondents, representing the largest enterprise companies and government agencies, 66 percent said they have brand new "greenfield" Linux deployments.
"This greenfield market share grab is a good indicator of a platform's future performance," the press release said.
As for cloud computing, not too many companies are ready to take that leap just yet, however, of those that do, they're using Linux. More than 70 percent chose Linux is their cloud operating system.
