Symbian Executive Director Steps Down Effective Immediately
In terms of market share, Nokia's Symbian operating system is the world leader, but its future looks dark.
Mashable's Christina Warren reported today, "The Symbian Foundation announced that Executive Director Lee M. Williams is stepping down, effective immediately. Symbian Foundation CFO Tim Holbrow has been appointed by the Foundations Board of Directors to take his place."
As Nokia tries to figure out what to do with Symbian and its next-generation platform, open source MeeGo, there appears to be a mass exodus of executives leaving.
"Nokia proper has had several high-profile leadership changes over the past three months," Warren said, "including the recent departure of Ari Jaaksi, the head of Nokias MeeGo division. That came just one month after Stephen Elop became Nokias new CEO and Anssi Vanjoki, Nokias head of mobile solutions, resigned."
