Natty Narwhal is now Open for Development
The next version of Ubuntu, version 11.04, is called "Natty Narwhal" and on Friday Matthias Klose announced open development has begun.
Klose said that Natty will using GCC 4.5, rather than 4.4.
"GCC 4.5 is more strict than earlier GCC versions, and may cause build problems in packages," according to Klose.
Ubuntu 11.04 is scheduled to be finished in April 2011.
According to Wikipedia, a "narwhal" is a medium-sized toothed whale that lives year-round in the Arctic.
