Btrfs Is Almost Ready

The Btrfs Linux filesystem is edging closer and closer to being the next generation filesystem to replace Ext3 and Ext4, but it's not ready for prime time yet.

"Generally, we're very usable in a lot of different workloads and we're generally very stable," said Chris Mason the project's founder. "The one caveat to that is we don't have a strong way to fix filesystem corruptions that may have come up due to bugs in the kernel."
