Google's Open Source Acre Server-side JavaScript Application Platform
Acre is the open source backend for the Freebase Apps platform.
Acre provides hosted, social application developer using server-side JavaScript. Because Acre is open source, developers can run Acre on their own server too.
Google purchased MetaWeb, the makers of Freebase, last month and Acre is a result of that acquisition.
