jQuery Developers Announce jQuery Mobile Project
John Resig, the creator of jQuery, announced the jQuery Mobile project.
"Not only is the core jQuery library being improved to work across all of the major mobile platforms," Resig said, "but we're also working to release a complete, unified, mobile UI framework."
He said that the goal is to develop a mobile UI framework that works across all browsers, including international mobile platforms (not just a few of the most popular platforms in North America).
jQuery has sponsorship from Palm, Mozilla and Boston-based design and development Filament Group.
A complete strategic overview is available here. There's a chart of browsers targeted for support can be found here. There's also a forum to get the discussion going here.
