AMD Returns to Work on the Open Source Geode Linux Driver
It's been two years since AMD has contributed to the open source Geode Linux driver code, but according to Martin-Eric Racine, they're back.
Racine announced the availability of a release candidate of the X.org Geode 2.11.9 driver for the X.org 7.6 Katamari. He also said that AMD has allocated two engineers, Hunk Cui and Frank Huang from the AMD China team to contribute to the Geode driver project.
Michael Larabel on Phoronix said, the two AMD engineers had not previously been working on open source projects at AMD, so there's no need to worry about losing resources from other open source AMD drivers such as the Radeon driver.
