Russia Building a 'National Operating System' With Linux
The Moscow Times reported today that the Russian government is creating its own "national operating system" based on Linux.
A government spokesman said that 90 percent of the operating system will be open source Linux.
The operating system will be used on computer systems of government agencies and state-run companies. The use of the operating system will be optional. It's expected to be ready early next year.
