In the Future Cars Will Run MeeGo Linux
The Register's Gavin Clarke reported today that the car-industry alliance GENIVI has officially said that open source MeeGo will be the reference release for its In-Vehicle Infotainment system.
"The idea," Clarke said, "is IVI will be used to build navigation, entertainment, and location-based services systems in cars and provide connections to devices, car and broadband networks."
MeeGo is a Linux-based mobile operating system built by Nokia and Intel.
