The National Microelectronics Institute announced that a panel debating the future of open source business models is scheduled for the Future World Symposium.

Its title is “The Disruptive Effect of Open Source.”

The panel will be chaired by journalist and author Glyn Moody and “will examine the benefits and tradeoffs that open source brings and address how companies can simultaneously scale innovation and deliver profits using the approach.”

The Symposium is a two-day event in London’s historic district beginning on September 15.

Tickets are available at the FWS-2010 Web site.
