Yahoo Beefs Up Open Source Hadoop with Security and Oozie
Yahoo claims that by adding Security and Oozie to Hadoop, enterprises will get more value from the their data.
"Hadoop with Security enables authentication through integrating Hadoop with Kerberos, a open source authentication standard that enables secure collaboration and sharing of authenticated data," reports Computer Business Review.
Oozie is an open source workflow engine for Hadoop. It's a workflow management and coordination engine to manage jobs running on Hadoop.
"Businesses across all sectors are looking for ways to leverage the vast quantities of data they are accumulating, and Apache Hadoop is an efficient solution for processing data at scale," said Melanie Posey, research director at IDC Research.
