Puppet Labs and Adobe Team Up

Puppet is an open source data center automation and configuration management framework. Today, Puppet Labs, the project's corporate sponsor, announced that Adobe as agreed to publish the Puppet modules for managing Hadoop.

ReadWriteCloud's Audrey Watters reported that Puppet takes care of Hadoop's "heavy lifting," in terms of configuration management, Christian Ivascu of Adobe said.

As opposed to manual configuration, Puppet "figures out what nodes need to be upgraded, pushes the new archives, changes configuration files and restarts services," according to Watters' reporting.
