More Developers are Choosing Linux over Windows

According to this year’s Eclipse User Survey, the percentage of developers using Windows fell from 64.3 percent to 58.3 percent.

That coincides with an increase in developers who chose open source Linux as their desktop operating system – up 32.7 percent from 26.9 percent.

But there’s good news for Windows as a server platform, InfoWorld’s Savio Rodrigues said, “Both Windows and Linux usage remained flat at 41 and 43 percent, respectively.”
