VLC Release Candidate Supports Google's VP8/WebM Video Format
Last week Google announced the creation of the open source WebM project for the VP8 video codec. One week later, the developers for the open source VideoLAN project dropped a release candidate for their VLC media player that supports VP8/WebM.
The newest version of VLC includes lots of bug fixes and performance improvements too.
Mac OS X is getting some much-needed user interface tweaks.
Also, DVD, flv, MP4, AVI and AVI/ODML demuxing fixes and improvements are in there too.
