OpenSUSE 11.3 Gets Upstart
The fourth milestone openSUSE 11.3 release replaced the traditional System V init scheme with Upstart.
"Many other distributions, including Ubuntu and Fedora, use Upstart by default, or as with Debian, can be easily switched to using it," The H reported.
Other changes with openSUSE Milestone 4 are largely a series of software updates. According the H, "The new release includes NetworkManager 0.8 which improves operation with GSM connections and handles connections over Bluetooth. GNOME has been updated to the release candidate for the upcoming version 2.30 and KDE has been updated to version 4.4.1."
