Google Strategist Says Open Source Will Win
At a speech today to the Birmingham-Bloomfield Chamber, Michelle Morris, Google's lead advertising strategist for automotive customers, said, "We believe open wins. It leads to innovation."
Morris pointed to Twitter, Facebook, the explosion of blogs and other social networking applications.
She said that 120,000 people start a blog every day and upload 15 hours of video to YouTube, reported Wall Street Journal Newsradio's Matt Roush.
The other big movement is to smartphones. Roush reported that more than four billion people have a mobile phone, and Morris sees those people migrating to smartphones, which are essentially pocket PCs.
