Canonical Reverses Decision: OpenOffice Stays
Canonical was going to dump OpenOffice for Google Docs, but after community outcry, they changed their mind and OpenOffice will remain the default office suite on its Netbook distro of Ubuntu.
Open Source magazine's Maureen O'Gara reported, "After a Peasant Revolt, it decided that 'it seems that users and community members would really prefer that we ship OO for the editing suite.'"
