Today, XIPWIRE announced that they are donating their text pledging service to the open source community.

XIPWIRE is waiving all fees for all donations directed to the Apache Software Foundation, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Free Software Foundation, GNOME Foundation, KDE e.V. and the Linux Foundation.

A $10 pledge can be made by texting “oss” to 56624.

GNOME Foundation Executive Director Stormy Peters said, “We are very excited that people will be able to make text donations to GNOME through XIPWIRE. It’s something our supporters have asked for. Text payments are becoming a very common and convenient way for people to show their support for good causes. Thanks very much to XIPWIRE for providing this service free of cost to free and open source software projects.”
