Novell Reorganizes Again
Starting next month, Novell will collapse its four business units down to two, according to Maureen O'Gara at Open Source Magazine.
The "company's identity and security management, systems and resource management, and its open platform solutions groups," O'Gara said, "will be a single unit called Security, Management and Operating Platforms (SMOP)."
This reorganization appears to be gearing Novell to sell more identity and security management on Linux, reported O'Gara.
The new SMOP division will be lead by Jim Ebzery. The Collaboration Solutions unit will be run by Colleen O'Keefe.
