Microsoft Open Sources Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool
Microsoft was caught violating the open source GNU Public License last month. It turns out that the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool relied on open source software but Microsoft distributed it with a closed license.
That's a no-non and Microsoft admitted the mistake. The software was pulled off the online Microsoft store shelf until the problem could be fixed.
After several weeks of tinkering, the Download Tool is now available and it complies with the GNU Public License.
