App Store Tops 650,000 Apps

During its quarterly earnings report, Apple revealed the latest statistics for the App Store. The store now has 650,000 apps, up from 600,000 in April. According to Apple's Peter Oppenheimer, 250,000 App Store apps are specific to the iPad. Apple has paid $5.5 million to iOS developers, up from $4 million in April.

By comparison, Google reported in June that Google Play had 600,000 apps.
