Android Developers Get a Style Guide
Android apps are sometimes criticized for poor design, but Google is hoping to change that with a new Android Design website. "We haven't really had a style guide," admitted Google's Matias Duarte. "We haven't really given you a lot of guidance on how to migrate your application from a phone, perhaps, to a tablet. We've done so only by example."
Duarte is changing that with a new style guide for apps for Android 4.0, codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich. "Android has had a lot of terrific developer API level documentation," Duarte said. "But within our style guide we have things [where] we think, unequivocally, this is the way to make it Android."
