Until recently, Adobe’s Flash-based mobile app development tools supported only the Android platform. However, Adobe has now released Flash Builder 4.5 and Flex 4.5, which support iOS and BlackBerry’s PlayBook tablet, as well as Android. Last fall, Apple lifted its ban on apps created with third-party tools, so there is no reason why apps developed with Adobe’s technology can’t be listed in the App Store.
As part of the launch, Adobe is showcasing a number of apps created with Flash Builder and Flex, including Politifact.com, Mr. Mixit, Pyramix, Conqu, Muni Tracker and a Netflix Queue Manager.
