10-Year-Old Girl Reveals Zero-Day Flaw at DefCon
This year's DefCon convention has featured speeches by hackers of all ages, including one by a 10-year-old girl who goes by the handle "CyFi." In her presentation, she revealed a new class of security vulnerability found in many mobile apps. After getting bored waiting for her corn to grow on a farm-style game, CyFi figured out how to advance a smartphone or tablet's clock manually. Independent security researchers validated her finding.
The speech was part of the new DefCon kids track at the conference.
