Facebook’s latest bug bounty payment is attracting attention because of the age of the security researcher involved. Jani, a Finnish hacker who is only 10 years old, discovered a way to delete comments in Instagram and submitted the flaw to Facebook. The social network responded by sending the youngster a check for $10,000.
Jani’s father says the boy and his twin brother have found other security flaws, but this is the first time they received a bug bounty. Jani plans to buy a new bike and a football with the money.
Last year, Facebook paid $936,000 in bug bounties to 210 security researchers.
